ARCTIC PICTURES
About me

I fell under the spell of Scandinavian nature on my very first trip to Norway in 1994.
My studies in geography, as well as my passion for photography, have led me to more than 150 trips to the far north, even during my doctoral studies for a Norwegian national park.
Photography fascinated me even as a child.
It had always been a dream of mine to experience and photograph the magical Northern Lights live.
The pursuit of these phenomena has now become a passion. It's not uncommon to find me on all-night photo trips, both during the midnight sun and the polar night.
I can now call the islands of Lofoten and Vesterålen my second home.
Therefore, it is a particular pleasure for me to experience these dreamlike landscapes together with travelers, to search for the best motifs, locations and times, and to share the enthusiasm for the wonders of these regions.
Since 2018 I have been working full-time as a tour guide and photography trainer, initially freelance for various providers, before becoming self-employed in 2020 with even more individualized photo tours.
After moving to Denmark in February 2021, I re-established my company ARCTIC PICTURES and meet the latest European standards regarding travel insurance through the Danish Travel Guarantee Fund.
My guests are photographers from German-speaking countries, ranging from beginners to professionals.
In the fall of 2025, together with my friend and fellow photographer Yannick Scherthan, I published a photo book about Iceland in collaboration with National Geographic.
